Write it down, commit and have grit!

A dream written down with a date becomes a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed up by action makes your dreams come trueGreg S. Reid.

Don’t put it off. Failing is the first step to success.

Don’t put it off until tomorrow. Finding reasons why you can’t do something is just a way of justifying to yourself why something hasn’t happened for you and excusing it in your mind and to others. It eliminates the risk of failure. Nobody is going to make it happen for you, except YOU! Don’t be scared to fail. Failing means you were brave enough to try and when we try and fail… we learn and progress.

Make the list

Write down everything that you want to achieve. Make a yearly list, a weekly list and a daily plan of action. The key word here is action. Lots of small steps of action, little and often, make the building blocks and set the foundation to achieve the bigger goals. When you write down a goal, you are acknowledging it to yourself and making it tangible. Once you have realised what it is you want to achieve, start to look at the little things that you can do each day to take steps closer to your goals. Don’t aim for a big change in a short space of time, aim for a solid foundation of carefully thought out steps to set a solid base for your goals over a longer period of time. You wouldn’t build your dream house on cracked foundations!

Commit to the action

Actions speak louder than words, and once you start to add action to your goals you start to see small successes. Visualise what it is you want to achieve, what it is you want to become. See it in your minds eye. Once you have committed it to thought and mind you have told yourself that it is possible. Commit and let the action do the talking.

Have grit!

You won’t achieve your goals overnight. Have patience, perseverance and self-belief that you will get there, no matter how many times you may fall along the way. Decide for yourself that you will be successful and don’t be swayed by the nay-sayers- they are not walking in your shoes and don’t know your strength and determination. Above all, remember why you are doing what you’re doing. Get to know and understand your why and keep focussed on the end result. Stay positive and determined, safe in the knowledge that you are going to make things happen, through consistent, daily activity and planning. After all, Rome wasn’t build in a day 😊
